The core business of S.P.L. INDUSTRIES is sheet metal cold pressing. The production department was initially designed for manual and progressive molding for Appliance, Telecommunications, Trucking and Automotive industry, but in 2000's it focused exclusively on Automotive with important investments in large presses and industrial automation, through the installation of several 6-axis robots. As of today we produce parts of the chassis on first fitting for Maserati Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Giulietta, Fiat 500 X, 500 L, Ducato, Panda and Jeep Renegade.
Over the years, S.P.L. Industries has acquired an important expertise on the molding of Axle Suspension components, which are highly technological parts due to their safety function. We produce the parts of the rear axle of Fiat 500L (Produced for PMC Serbia), of the axle of Maserati Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante.
The department has a Robotic Line of n°6 mechanical presses, among which the "head-tail" presses are respectively 800 tons and 1000 tons, while the intermediary ones are 500 tons; all the presses of the Line have a 3300x2100 plan and 610 mm stroke. The system can work starting the cycle at both ends. Besides the robotic line, we have a Mecfond mechanical monopress of 600 ton (plan 3500x2200) supplied by 1500 and one 6-axis "transfer" robot of 420 Kg; there is also another mechanical monopress of 500 ton (plan 3100x2100) supplied by 800. They are supported by: n°1 hydraulic press of 900 tons with a 4200x2500 plan and n°1 mechanical press of 500 tons with a 3300x2100 plan, in addition to smaller presses of 100 and 200 ton. All the presses are supplied by a conveyor belt for the scrap evacuation, installed in the underlying tunnel which unloads the scrap in a reinforced concrete basin with a capacity of over 200 cu.m.
The electrical power can be supplied to the presses line through strips provided by the customer or sheared with our cutting line that can work on coils up to 1500 in width and 27 tons in weight. In case of different shapes, the supplied monopresses also provide the form cutting service.
The department is planned on a 24-hour shift with increasing orientation to a "just-in-time" management; in order to reduce the size of the warehouse and speed up the mold changes, we installed n°2 bridge cranes of 25 tons and we are currently investing to reduce the set-up time of the systems.
Today S.P.L. Industries is a strategic supplier for important multinationals, such as the CLN Group (Magnetto), Proma Group, SNOP Group and PMC, rewarded for the quality produced and for its productive reliability, and started the process to get the IATF 16949 certification.

Conveyor belt presses tunnel
